The Defi 5C is a fully automatic external defibrillator designed for rapid, effective treatment of ventricular fibrillation and pulseless ventricular tachycardia in adult patients. The device employs a three-step defibrillation protocol with biphasic truncated exponential waveform technology, delivering energy sequences of 150, 150, and 200 Joules maximum. Charge times are optimised for clinical urgency: less than 6 seconds to 150J and less than 8 seconds to 200J at 25°C.
Extensive voice prompts and LED visual indicators guide operators through each step of the resuscitation process, reducing cognitive load during high-stress emergency situations. The device features two-button operation (ON/OFF and Shock) with lock-out protection to prevent inadvertent defibrillation. An internal memory stores up to 1500 ECG events over 60 hours, with infrared data transmission capability for post-event analysis and quality assurance.
